The Experience includes Harajuku Kawaii Make-over Pageant, a contest to choose the ultimate winner that perfects the contemporary Harajuku kawaii style. Japan Airlines will sponsor a FREE trip to Harajuku as the grand prize! Also MTV IGGY will cover the all-day free music event, Japan Nite Special Girls Rock Explosion!, introducing the hottest Japanese girl-bands that will surely ignite the Plaza!

Eligibility:
The contest is open to U.S. residents who can come and attend by their own means to the Harajuku Kawaii Experience to be held at Peace Plaza in Japantown, San Francisco on Sat, August 15th, 2009. Contestant under 18 years old must obtain parental permission.

Contest Process:
1. Contest Entry – Anyone who resides in the U.S. can enter the contest! 
2. • a personal statement
   • a basic profile including Name & Address, Date of Birth & Contact info
   • a photo of the applicant
3. Entry Deadline – Saturday, August 8th Midnight(PST). No more contestant submissions will be accepted after the deadline.
4. Semi-Final Round – The top 15 contestants will be notified that they’ve made it through the preliminary round and the meet-up place & time for the semi-final round by Monday, August 10th. 15 semi-finalists have been already notified. Thank you for your entries!
   
5. The Make-over – The 15 contestants will be introduced and top 5 finalists will be announced between 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Harajuku Kawaii Experience Stage on Sat, 8/15. During the Girls Rock Explosion mini-live starting 12:45 p.m. through 2:45 p.m., 5 final contestants will have a make-over to become complete Harajuku Girls by 6%DOKIDOKI.
6. Final Round, the Fashion Show – 5 final contestants will be introduced on the HKE stage to show off their make-overs at 3:00 p.m.!
