Roadie
(Directed by Michael Cuesta )
Friday, 2/24 – Wednesday, 2/29, 2012
FIRST RUN PREMIERE ENGAGEMENT In Michael Cuesta’s moving character study, middle-aged Jimmy Testagross heads home to Queens after being fired from his roadie job with Blue Öyster Cult. Having lived a nomadic life on tour for most of the past 26 years has rendered him ill-equipped to deal with his present circumstances – his lonely, aging mother; his over-inquisitive friends from the past; or his own diminished future. With great performances by Ron Eldard as the over-the-hill title character, Bobby Cannavale as a boorish high-school acquaintance, and Lois Smith as his addled but hyper-critical mom, Roadie also features a nifty soundtrack featuring Bob Dylan, The Ramones, and several BÖC classics.
