On August 15th, 2009 NEW PEOPLE opened with a Grand Opening celebration and the J-POP SUMMIT FESTIVAL that brought 33, 000 people to Japantown in just one day! Even the city of San Francisco declared that August 15, 2009 become “J Pop Day”. So here we are one year later. NEW PEOPLE and staff have enjoyed the warm welcome we received from San Francisco and visitors from around the world. We wish to continue the fun interactions and our new found friendships with all.
