BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT Fashion Contest
Lolitas! Fashionistas! Boys and girls! This year, BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT and Animation on Display will be co-hosting a circus-inspired, OTT (over the top) fashion contest called “Spectacular! Spectacular!: Under the Big Top”!

Contest Qualifications and Details:
1. Fashion contestants must wear main pieces (JSK, OP, Blouse & Bottom) from BABY or Alica and the Pirates.
2. A coordination check will be conducted at 2:30pm before the contest.
3. Judging will be based on creativity and adherence to the theme, and on how they explain their look to the audience during the contest.
4. The winners will be chosen by BABY shop staff and our special guest Amy Dean from Crown & Crumpet The grand prize is a full coordinate set from BABY!

Registration and Wardrobe Screening:
Animation On Display booth will be taking sign up from 11am – 2:30pm, August 27th, the same day. All who have registered must gather under the 12ft J-POP SUMMIT Banner (and light pole flags) at the entrance of Peace Plaza at 2:30pm for BABY staff to go through wardrobe screening. The qualified contestants will then be escorted to a waiting area to go on stage to compete in the contest that starts at 3pm!

h.NAOTO’s First U.S. Store Opening in October!

This is absolutely incredible news for the Bay area, and of course, for us at NEW PEOPLE. World-renown Tokyo street fashion brand h.NAOTO will be opening their first U.S. flagship store in NEW PEOPLE’s Fashion Floor on Friday, October 7th!

As promotion for the upcoming store opening, h.NAOTO will open a pop-up-shop during the J-POP SUMMIT Festival on August 27 and 28th, where head designer Naoto Hirooka will also be hosting a fashion show. Naoto Hirooka fans will have a chance to meet the designer at the J-POP SUMMIT Festival VIP party. (Pledge to support J-POP SUMMIT on our Kickstarter page to get invited! )

NEW PEOPLE’s first Trunk Show opens with Vuduberi, a small collective and studio formed by few artists. The idea of a “Trunk Show” is for creators, artists, artisans, craft makers, printers, fashion-brands and businesses to haul a small shop (i.e. your open-trunk) into a new temporary location, in this case, NEW PEOPLE’s fashion floor! So visit Vuduberi during the weekend of April 2nd & 3rd, and check out their Weekend Trunk Show with original artworks and crafts sold by the artists themselves!

About Vuduberi:
VUDUBERI is a small group of friends with oddly diverse interests. Patara is the head mistress, designing all sorts of cute critters. She leads a group of elves who figure out how to bring these designs to life, most of them hand made in the San Francisco Bay Area with very low production runs.
